This fabulous property was built over 150 years ago, making it one of the original buildings of the tiny pueblo of Santa Eulalia that grew into the vibrant town we know today. Before the start of the 20th century this was the village bar and tobacconist, a well known landmark where everyone met to collect their mail. Sandy arrived at the island at the end of the 50s and opened what was then known as 'The Black Horse', just in time to entertain the incoming jet-set. Wild parties and great times continued right through to the end of the 70s. Regular patrons included Errol Flynn, Denhom Elliott, Leslie Phillips, Terry Thomas, Nigal Davenport, Laurance Olivier, Diana Rigg, John Mills, Terrance Stamp, Freddy Mercury, The Duchess of York, Nicky Louder, Roger Moore, etc, etc! Sandys bar has one of the best locations in the most affluent town in Spain. The bar is two doors down from the Town Hall and the first restaurant on Calle San Vicente (Restaurant Road) which has recently been pedestrianized. Taxis, buses and free parking are all located within a 75m radius of the bar. |
